New Fire TV products, upgrades to existing features, and so much more.

2023 has been an incredibly busy year for Fire TV. We’ve continued to strengthen the Fire TV experience by updating features to better support our customers; brought a little something for everyone with the launch of Fire TV Channels, and made it easier for folks to access great that great content via the Fire TV Channels app. All of this while working closely with your favorite streaming providers to bring you custom experiences for such popular events like the Women’s World Cup.

And the momentum continues today, as we’re proud to share a range of new products and offerings designed to continue provide you with the best streaming experience in a way only Fire TV can provide.

New Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and Fire TV Stick 4K
The new Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the first streaming media player to come with the Fire TV Ambient Experience (more on that later), and features an upgraded 2.0 GHz quad-core processor, making it Amazon’s smartest and most powerful streaming stick yet. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the industry’s first streaming stick to include support for Wi-Fi 6E, meaning customers with a compatible router can enjoy the smoothest streaming experience with lower latency, faster speeds, and less interference from other wifi-enabled devices in the home.

With ultra-cinematic, vibrant 4K Ultra HD, and support for Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+, and immersive Dolby Atmos audio, the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max delivers the best Fire TV Stick visual and audio experience yet. Fire TV Stick 4K Max also features 16GB of storage, doubling the previous generation’s capacity, and enabling you to store even more apps and games directly on the device.

In addition to that device, we’re also excited to announce the new Fire TV Stick 4K, which delivers the best Fire TV Stick performance yet under $50. It introduces support for Wi-Fi 6 and features an updated 1.7 GHZ quad-core processor, making it nearly 30% more powerful than the previous generation. Enjoy vibrant 4K Ultra HD picture quality and immersive Dolby Atmos audio with support for Dolby Vision, HDR, HLG, and HDR10+. Plus, with Alexa Home Theater, you can wirelessly connect compatible Echo devices, for audio across multiple speakers and inputs.

Plus, U.S. customers who purchase a new Fire TV streaming media player or smart TV can enjoy a six-month subscription to MGM+ on us. With MGM+, you can watch thousands of movies from MGM and other major Hollywood studios, including Top Gun: Maverick, No Time to Die, House of Gucci, plus original series, including the sci-fi horror hit FROM, Emmy-winning Godfather of Harlem, and the Western adventure Billy the Kid.

Bring the beauty of Fire TV Ambient Experience to your Fire TV Stick 4K Max
Previously only available on the Fire TV Omni QLED Series, the Fire TV Ambient Experience transforms the TV into a beautiful, always-smart display, and is now available to more customers on the all-new Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

With a quick tap of the Alexa button — or simply by asking Alexa — you can activate the Ambient Experience from the Shortcuts menu and replace blank TV screens with helpful information and beautiful artwork. With the Ambient Experience, you can see glance-able information like your Calendars and Reminders; leave Sticky Notes for family members; control smart devices like a thermostat or Ring doorbell; play audio from services like Amazon Music, Spotify, and others; and much more.

The Ambient Experience can also turn the TV into an in-home art gallery, with no monthly subscription required. Today, Amazon added hundreds of new images to a growing collection of more than 2,000 free, gallery-quality pieces of artwork, and expanded the collection to include artists from France, Spain, Italy, Japan, and Australia with art from notable institutions including Musée d’Orsay in Paris, Museo del Prado in Madrid, and Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Florence. Customers can choose from motion graphics, landscape art, personalized and always-evolving dynamic art, and personal photos.

Create unique AI artwork on your Fire TV
Soon you’ll be able to create personalized artwork background on your Fire TV using just your voice and your imagination. You’ll be able to give Alexa an imagination-driven prompt, such as, “Alexa, create an image of cherry blossoms in the snow,” and watch as that prompt is translated into a unique display on the Fire TV screen. The free feature will begin rolling out to customers in the U.S. on devices with the Fire TV Ambient Experience by the end of this year.

Add cinematic sound with the new Fire TV Soundbar
In addition to all the treats for your eyes, we didn’t want to leave out your ears. The new two-channel Fire TV Soundbar produces room-filling sound with support for DTS® Virtual:X and Dolby Audio. Featuring a compact 24-inch design that fits beautifully with your TV setup, the Fire TV Soundbar is simple to set up. Just plug in the included HDMI cable to the eARC/ARC port of your TV and you will be ready to go — and when not watching TV, you’ll be able to connect your phone or tablet, to stream music via Bluetooth.

New Fire TV experience updates — AI-Powered Search and “Continue Watching” row
Soon you may notice things may look a little bit different when you access your Fire TV. That’s because we’re evolving the experience to better suit your needs and viewing habits. The upgraded Fire TV experience materially enhances search, browse, and recommendations by combining generative AI with the extensive entertainment content and app library found on Fire TV — enabling you to find and discover content in a natural, contextual, and conversational way. Ask Alexa nuanced or open-ended questions about TV shows and movies, and receive help finding what you’re looking for using natural and conversational language. You can ask Alexa to find content based on specific actors, directors, scenes, genres, or entitlements such as “action movies with car chases,” “comedies for a rainy day inside,” or “animated movies that are free to me.” Or, simply tell Alexa what you’re in the mood to watch, and choose from a selection of recommendations personalized to your Fire TV profiles. What a cool feature!

We also heard many of you share feedback on your experience when you pause your favorite programs. We’re also rolling out a new “Continue Watching” row that puts content front and center, with a focus on recency that makes it easier for you to find your favorite show and pick up where you left off. We’re putting content from leading streaming providers all in one place — including Amazon Freevee, Disney+, Hulu, Max, MGM+, Peacock, STARZ, and Tubi — and we’ll continue to add content from streaming providers over time.

Look for both the new Fire TV voice search and “Continue Watching” row later this year, and we’ll share those rollouts via our social media channels.

As you can see, there’s quite a bit in store for our Fire TV community. We’re excited to share this news with you, and will continue to find new ways to give you the best streaming experience. Make sure to subscribe to our blog and social channels to stay up to date with the latest on Fire TV, as well as what’s next in store for you. Happy streaming!
