TIAA and Wyclef Jean Partner with Amazon Music on behalf of #RetireInequality effort

For the first time, Amazon expands Stream it Forward to Amazon Music to join the effort to #RetireInequality alongside TIAA and Wyclef Jean.

Legendary musician Wyclef Jean isn’t just releasing new music, he’s releasing new music with a mission. Upon learning that 54% of Black Americans retire without enough savings, the iconic artist was inspired to take action the way he always has: with guitar and microphone in hand. In partnership with retirement services provider TIAA, Wyclef is joining the fight to #RetireInequality by releasing ‘Paper Right’ on January 12th alongside featured artists Pusha T, Lola Brooke, Capella Grey and Flau’Jae.

In celebration of the song’s launch, TIAA partnered with Amazon’s Brand Innovation Lab and Amazon Music to spread his message even further. “It’s time to stack our Paper Right for our future financial security,” said Wyclef leading up to the song’s release. Until 2/29/24, streams of Paper Right, and Wyclef’s entire music catalog on Amazon Music will deliver a $1 donation from Amazon, up to a maximum donation of $100,000 (terms apply) — the first time Amazon’s Stream it Forward program has ever been activated with music. Stream it Forward is Amazon’s cause-marketing program where the more you stream select content on Fire TV, the more gets raised for charity. The program offers an opportunity for people to join the fight to #RetireInequality by doing something they already love doing — listening to music on Amazon. The donations will benefit First Generation Investors, a nonprofit organization committed to teaching students how to responsibly invest.

To hype the song’s release, and drive streams, Amazon Music and Amazon’s Brand Innovation Lab are hosting an influencer listening event to promote the song before its official release. The exclusive event will be hosted in Amazon Music’s Artist Lounge in Brooklyn where tastemakers from all over New York City are invited to hear Wyclef perform the song publicly for the first time, learn more about the #RetireInequality mission and hear directly from TIAA leadership on the importance of stacking funds for your future.
